im trying to put music on my iPhone 5s, but when i plug it into my computer it says that it cant connect because i need to update iTunes. I tried to update it, but it says its up to date. I'm not really sure what to do from here.

Well the current version of iTunes is 12.3.1.
It appears that you are going to have to upgrade OS X to a newer version in order to install that version of iTunes.

itunes says that i need to update, but when i go to update it says that its up to date.
