All my photos are showing up on my iphone and ipad but there are loads missing on my macbook. Is there a way to sync them?

The photos I take on my iphone/ipad seem to sync with each other and I can see all my photos over both devices. Today I turned on my macbook to print out some of these photos only to discover most of the photos weren't showing up on my macbook photo stream. I have no way of getting the photos off my phone onto my macbook. Any one have any ideas how I can sync my macbook photo stream so I can see all my photos?
