how to find total number of contacts in IOS 9.1

one used to scroll down to the bottom of contacts to"#" and it showed the total number of contacts but it is not there in 9.1?

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.1

It is still there on my iPhone 5s with iOS 9.1 if I tap the # button and then scroll up to see below the last contact.

It's still there on mine as well.

I seem to recall, a year or so back, that sometimes, it wouldn't show. And then, later it would be back. So, perhaps try again.
