I use a Layen Bluetooth transmitter ( http://www.layen-uk.com/White-iPod-Bluetooth-Transmitter_p_65.html ) that plugs into the 30-pin dock connector (because I then get the line out level from the iPod). However, this device uses the power supply of the iPod and so it will drain the iPod's battery more quickly than this type ( http://www.layen-uk.com/LAYEN-BST--Bluetooth-Transmitter_p_69.html ) which plugs into the headphone socket and uses an internal rechargeable battery. The second type (indicated above) will be dependent upon the volume control on the iPod, in other words, if you turn the volume on the iPod up/down, it will affect the volume at the Bluetooth receiver end.

Layen are made in the UK, but as far as I know, they ship worldwide.

Otherwise, that's a slightly difficult question to answer on a world-wide forum, but

  1. Google Bluetooth transmitter and see what is available in Australia
  2. Tell us which Bluetooth devices are available in Australia and we can offer advice based on experience of anything you have access to.

Note: I do not receive any reward or compensation from Layen, either directly or indirectly. There are other makes of Bluetooth transmitter available.
