Is it possible to connect a USB splitter to the USB port so that can connect 2 external screens to MacBook Air?

My niece has a MacBook Air that is 1 1/2 years old and she connects the only USB port to an external monitor to have a second screen. Is it possible for her to connect a USB splitter to the USB port so that she can connect 2 external screens to her MacBook Air?
