how do i locate my photos in iTunes after they have been downloaded from my iPad?
iTunes doesn't contain or store photos. iTunes can be used to sync photos from your computer to your iPad but it is not involved in any way in transferring photos the other direction, i.e., from an iPad to a computer.
If you transferred photos from an iPad to a Mac computer, the photos would most likely be accessed via the iPhoto or Photos app on your Mac. The other possibility is that you used Image Capture to transfer the photos and in that case they would be in whatever location they were saved to.
