my macbook air suddenly shutdown on me this morning as I was editing a project on adobe premeire pro.
upon trying to power back on, it gives me 3 beeps as if I need to do an smc reset. Ive done the smc reset multiple times but nothing changes.

Three beeps is an indication that the RAM (memory) is failing or has failed.
Since RAM is soldered to the logic board on a MacBook Air, you will need to take your Mac in for service.

If you can't get to an Apple Store, look for an authorized service provider > Apple - Find Locations
*UPDATE*
macbook air had a pram reset and then sprung to life that same day.
I performed a time machine backup.
Laptop then shutdown again the next day and kernal panics (crashes) when attempting to login.
2 days later I brought it into an I.T. Store and it logged in fine, they did some diagnostics on it and told me that THE HARDWARE IS FINE.
Turns out I have a corrupt OSX and need to reinstall and start reloading applications on and testing one by one to see which is the culprit.
I suspect it's adobe premiere pro as the laptop had both its major crashes when this program was open.
Hope this can help anyone else before they throw away a laptop thats okay.
