Wifi issues on El Capitan???

I have a early 2014 MacBook air and upgraded to El Capitan a few weeks ago but since updating I have been having wifi issues. When I try to connect it won't connect at all even though my iPad 2 and iPhone 6 connect just fine, also my wife's Macbook Air (same as mine) connects just fine. The only way I can fix the issue is by turning off the router and turning it back on. Before this issue the only problem I had with the wifi was when I would wake up my MBA the wifi would show it was connected but wouldn't connect to the internet and I would need to turn off the wifi then turn it back on and it would work fine. I tried to connect to my phones hotspot and it worked just fine.

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance.

Since this only happens your Mac, it may be corrupted network preferences.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following:

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Click Go then move all the files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.

Restart your Mac. See if that makes a difference.

Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.
