OS Patch for new Magic Mouse?

Hi!

After struggling with the original Magic Mouse and its shortfalls for years (weak signal and poor battery connectors it seems), I went back to a wireless Mighty Mouse and longed after a new design.

Unfortunately the new one is bound to the latest OS, which I can't install because of too many incompatible pieces of software.

Has anyone heard of plans to make it retro compatible through some software patch, like when they launched the Mighty Mouse?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), Nec PA271W

We would not hear of Apple plans of this kind and even if we did we would be bound by non disclosure agreements not to discuss it. That it is tied seems to indicate that there are parts of the new system that cannot be integrated or that new systems in the design stage will need the facilities of the new mouse.

Thanks Seventy One. Since it is a software related compatibility, we might hopefully see some solution pop from somewhere. At least that's what I'm hoping.
