Q: Downloading iCloud backup to another device

IF I transfer icloud back up from iPhone to new iPad, will all apps and data appear on new devise? (E.g. iPad) and will they be synced?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.1

    Hey LAG51,

     

    If you restore a device such as your iPad from an iCloud backup made from a different type of device, like your iPhone, some data will not transfer. See this article - If you need help restoring your device from an iCloud backup.

     

    Specifically -

    I want to use a backup of my iOS device for a different kind of iOS device

    When you use a backup of one device for another kind of device, like an iPad backup for an iPhone, these types of data won't transfer:

    • Photos
    • Messages and attachments in Messages
    • Voice Memos
    • Apps that aren't compatible with the device you’re setting up 
      For example, apps compatible only with iPad won't be transferred to your iPhone.
