Contacts relationships randomly change

When I set relationships in on my contacts it changes it randomly. Ex. Mother: Jackie ......To Changed to assistant: Jackie ....

when I try to delete them, they won't delete

(BTW: sorry if this was in the wrong category, I wasn't sure in what category to ask this.)
