Missing inbox emails

HI all. So i have had a look on the discussions, but nothing seems to fit for me, and most are still unanswered, so here goes anyway....

Just today, when accessing my Icloud email from my IPhone, i had a few new emails. I opened them, and noticed that there was zero other messages in my inbox....

I went and opened desktop icloud email. Its the same.

I have been at work (on a ship for sake of clarity) and thus have not updated or changed any settings. This just seemed to of happened overnight.

Any explanation why this could of happened, and what i can do to fix it?

I have tried various pages from apples troubleshooting guides. Nothing worked (of course it didn't-it never does)

My sent, Junk, and trash are all unaffected by this. So it really vexes me how this could of happened.

I'm hoping there is an explanation for this, and not just another Icloud fail.
