Q: My apple watch does not accept calls reliably and when it does there is a few seconds delay in sending and receiving on the line. I have unpaired and paired again to save the watch settings. That did not cure it. A 10 seconds turn off too.

Hi Bob
If you have not yet done so, it may help to update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software versions (presently iOS 9.1 and watchOS 2.0.1 respectively).
To update your watch from a software version prior to watchOS 2, your iPhone needs to be running iOS 9 or later.
Instructions for updating the software are available here:
Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Update the software on your Apple Watch - Apple Support
It may also / alternatively help to restart both your iPhone and your watch. Turn both devices off first, then restart your iPhone before restarting your watch:
- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;
- To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
Check also that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are permanently enabled on your iPhone (Settings > Bluetooth / Settings > Wi-Fi).
