Macbook unrespomsive after unplugging usb device

Thus happened to me before around a year ago. I unplugged my USB interface accidentally and the macbook goes into some kind of hibernation where it doesn't respond and the magsafe doesn't light up. I took it to the genius bar and the guy used a keyboard command to start it up again. I don't remember the keyboard shortcut anymore though. Anyone know it?
