After installing El Capitan, I cannot get past the login screen. I log in, my MacBook acts like its rebooting normally, and then I am returned to the login screen.

I have tried several modes of recovery, including safe start, resetting pram, and trying to do a system recovery at startup, but nothing works.

Boot up your computer into recover mode-

1. Turn off computer.

2. Turn on computer with command and R keys on.

3. Recovery mode (Looks like a normal mac desktop)- use disk utility.

4. Use the Repair Permissions button on your drives.

5. Reboot your computer, hopefully all will go well. If not you can return to recovery mode

and reinstall the WHOLE system. But hopefully that is not the case.

Hope that helps!
