I was told that returns are free and without question if bought now until 20th January 2016, but can't find that written anywhere.
Apple has a 14 day return and full refund period, no questions asked year round.

There has been no announcement so far for any modifications to the policyfor this holiday season though.
I was told by phone and in the Apple Store that items bought after 8th November can be returned until 20th January instead of the normal 14 day policy. Problem is that this was told to me by a shop employee and someone in a call centre. Neither could confirm in writing and its not on the website!
