Notes is not syncing with iCloud

I have iPhone 6, Apple Air2 and MacBook Pro.....My Notes do sync well between the iPad, iCloud and iPhone. However, the MacBook Pro does not sync at all with iCloud. I have already signed in and out of iCloud and I have also deleted all the notes on the MacBook Pro. Need some directions on how to remedy this issue so that my notes are updated on the MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro has the latest OS X Yosemite update 10.10.5.
