I have iMac 27. Mouse appears to be locked. Have changed batteries but nothing seems to move the pointer.

mouse appears to be stuck. have changed batteries for new ones but nothing makes pointer move.?

iMac27, Mac OS X (10.6.1)

Reset the SMC and PRAM per the instruction in iMac SMC and PRAM reset (this may need to be done 2-3 times) and then retest. Please post back with your results.
