Ipod 4 screen black

I have a Ipod4 touch , the power button stopped working awhile ago but found a way around this with assisted touch if I need to shut it down, i read the power button maybe be stuck , now i normally dont try to do my own repairs but this time i opened the unit but could not see where the power button was located.

I figured it was not worth it to fiddle what i dont know anything about, when i put the unit back together

the screen is black, i can hear Siri when i push the bottom button but still black.

I connected it to my computer and Itunes does pick it up

You could try a restore in iTunes but I doubt it would work. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414.

When a button stops working, it's usually time to replace the device rather than letting it limp along. Unfortunately, you won't be eligible for a replacement since you opened the unit, and would have to just buy a new one outright.

That's your choice, but you can't really troubleshoot other issues you may run into, like this one, without the power button.

The screen turned back on but it has a weird rainbow and black screen

That either means you have a bad connection or you damaged something. You can try taking it to a third-party repair place but it might not be worth the price to fix it.
