Trouble moving iPhoto library into Photo... ideas?

I just migrated all my files from my old iMac (running iPhoto 8) to my new iMac, which has a Yosemite operating system. While doing the initial setup of the new iMac, I was prompted to move my iPhoto library into Photo. I have a big library -- about 150GB. I did as prompted, and it's saying "Preparing Library... 3% Completed." But it's been saying that for about 4 hours! Is this normal for a library this size? Or is there something else I should be doing (or a quicker way?)

Thanks in advance! Carol

Wow, thanks LOL! I actually force quit Photo and started over, thinking it was hung up on something. Geez! Did I just lose 4 hours? 😟

My iPhoto library says it's 105GB, but it's showing up on the new computer as 150GB... I posted a similar question in Photos but wasn't getting a response, so I also posted here. Thanks so much... I guess I'll just leave it... it went to 3% in a matter of seconds, then just stayed there for 4 hours. Doing the same thing now.
