iPhone 6S Plus, no sound from earbuds

When I plug earbuds into my iPhone 6S Plus no sounds come out of the earbuds. (They used to work just fine.) However, sound does come out of the iPhone speakers even with the earbud cable plugged into the iPhone. I tried four different earbuds (the ones that came with the iPhone 6S, ones that came with my previous iPhone and two other pairs of earbuds), sound does not come out of any of them.

As a followup. Went to the Genius Bar and the Genius powered my iPhone off and on and the problem went away. A couple of weeks later it was back. Went to the Genius Bar again and the Genius reset (Reset All Settings) my iPhone and the problem went away again. Still waiting to see if it was a permanent fix or not.
