i mail
since I upgraded to El Capitan my I mail program starts converting texted typed in to a bunch of foreign characters and slows to a crawl. The only way to stop this is to reboot my computer.
any suggestions?

Barefoot please rebuild each mail box in Mail. If you don't know how please select a mailbox then click Mailbox - Rebuild.
