aperture not importing photos from iPhone 6

Suddenly Aperture is not importing photos from my iPhone6. I'm used to checking the Aperture photostream by month and organizing all the month's photos into their proper places in my Aperture filing system. Last imported photo was last week. I know that Aperture will no longer be updated in the Apple system, as Apple is moving to the "Photos" app instead, but I was under the impression that, for at least the short term, Aperture would continue to function as it has. What might I be missing?
