Hanging of "quicktime" player

My quicktime player is hanging frequently after i have update my OS to Capitan.The app becomes irresponsive to 'force quit' and computer dosent even shut down.I have to close and restart is by pressing "shut down button" for a time.
Can anyone please tell me the solution to get rid of it?

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11)

Hai, i had the same problem. If you click on the Apple icon on the left top of your screen you can find an option ''force quit..'' .A window pops up and you can see the apps which are working at the moment,Here select the app you want to close and click on the force close.
