I have Final Cut Pro X. When I try and put my Project onto DVD it stops at 68% each time I've tried. I just updated my OS to El Captain. Is anyone else having this issue?

Do you have a background image for your menu? If you do, reduce its size in Preview (or some other photo editor so that the width un pixels is the same as the project.

No background image. left it blank. Didn't have this problem until I downloaded new OS. I am using an external DVD burner, it has worked great so I don't think that is the problem. Do you know what happens at 68% by any chance?
AT 66-68% the disc starts to write. Trying exporting a disk image to your hard drive and see if that works.
Do I export disk image from FC?
Yes. If the Hard Drive option is selected for Output Device, Final Cut will save the DVD output as a disk image.(assuming the encoding goes as it should).

No go. In the background task box it stops at "Waiting for Create Disk to finish". Same as when I try to burn onto DVD.
Please try one more disk image – this time in a new test library. Hold down the option and command keys when you launch FCP. That will create an empty library and allow you the opportunity to delete preferences (which you might as well do). Import a single short clip (something not used inn your working project) and optimize it once it's in the Browser. Edit the clip to the project timeline and try again to create the disk image.

No go, Still waiting on "Create Disk to finish" at 66%.
I think I will go back to the old OS at least to get this project onto DVD. I didn't have any trouble until El Captain.
Do you have a full back up to restore from?
You might also want to reinstall FCP X on your 10.11 system. If you do, do I suggest using FCS Removerto uninstall the application. Then download.install a fresh copy of Final Cut..

I am having the exact same problem, with hanging at 68% on a DVD export and 66% on an export to DVD. The problem seems to be with the "Create Disc" app not working correctly. I believe this is the case because I was able to creat one disc with a project, but the second project is just hanging. I usually would just export the master file and use iDVD to burn with menus, so I'm settling for second best with FCPX's menus, but I was only able to get one of 4 projects I need to finish NOW. I hate to use Toast, because the menu options are inferior and don't display the chapter names. I'll try doing a restart with a preference reset.
If the other suggestions do not work try setting your System Preferences to Ignore when Discs are inserted.
These are also auto activated like the Create Disc app in the default setting.
It's the Blank DVD option that is the focus here.
You don't need to Ignore all.

UPDATE - After restarting FCP by resetting preferences (Opt-Cmd at startup), I was able to burn 3 projects with out issue. This solved my problem.
When I try and Share my project onto DVD, it stops at 68%... is anyone else having this issue?
