Wireless DVD player to macbook air

I recently purchased a Sony DVD player which can stream content wirelessly to my smart TV. Is it possible to stream wirelessly from the DVD player to my Macbook Air and use that as my screen?

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), 1.7 GHz Intel Core i7; 8 GB Ram
