Home sharing and air play

My Mac book pro will not connect with home share or airplay with any of my devices including my apple tv

Mac Book Pro 13 in early 2011 Version 10.11.1 OS.X. El Capitan

I have changed the name under the sharing tab in settings, I have logged in and out of iTunes, what else can I do to fix this problem?
