Is there a way to view line numbers for a play/poem?

Is there a setting in iBooks that allows you see the line number of a play or poem that you are reading? This is standard, I thought, as it's how people are able to cite plays and poems. I have paper due for a class and I needed to get a copy of The Iliad, so I downloaded the free version from iBooks but there's no line numbers anywhere so I can't use it to cite it in my paper. Is there a way around this besides counting every single line in the play myself (which I'm not doing)?
