mac wont recognise external drive
the external drive shows up in disk utility and gives this error: Error: Partition map check failed because no slices were found.
If possible how would I fix this?
i am also using a mid 2013 mac book air
You external drive may not be fixable. I have a thread on this I will give you. Read the full thread before you do anything. Because if you can save the drive, you are going to have to use terminal in the utilities folder. This may not work. Then the only other option you have to save any file is to buy a tool like Disk Warrior.https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6775802?start=0&tstart=0 You may be able to erase and reformat it in disk utilities, but all data will be lost.
