Q: I want to go back to Aperture..

I "upgraded" to Photos a few weeks ago thinking I'll just try it out , being a firm Aperture user for years...and when I imported the pictures (thousands..) from Aperture to Photos..I had no idea it would take them all out of Aperture and leave it empty...I do not like Photos..at all... and want to continue with Aperture...how could I get my pictures back in Aperture the way they were...albums projects an all? Anyone feel the same? or am I missing something with Photos..?

    Note clear what you did

Migrating to Photos does not every include any importing and has no effect on the aperture library so what you describe does not make any sense

All you have to do to go back to Aperture is to launch it (you need Aperture 3.6) and continue on forward - nothing is changes by a correct migration to Photos (or even an incorrect import to Photos)

If somehow you managed to mess this up simply restore your backup of the Aperture library from when it was good and move forward

See this support document on how the contents from Aperture will migrate to Photos:

If Aperture launches on an apparently empty library, it may have created a new library on launch, because the migrated Aperture has been marked as "migrated" by a changed filename extension.

Select your Aperture library in the Finder. It will be by default in the Pictures folder.  Are there two Aperture libraries - one small, empty new library and your older, larger Aperture library?

The migrated library will look like this:

When you double click it to open, you may see this warning:

Click the button "Open Library in Aperture": Does this bring your photos back?
