Q: Maps importing into Contacts not working properly
I have a workflow problem with importing contacts over from Apple Maps into my contacts...
I work in sales, and Apple Maps is one of the only things I've found where I can easily 'scrape' contact info from relevant businesses without retyping it (I make booze, so these are restaurants & bars). For some reason, no other map software makes this easy...
Anyway, when I go to the contact page on Maps and click on the Add Contact button (the little guy with the + sign) the contact name shows up for like half a second in the contacts list, but then vanishes while Gmail and iCloud both re-sync themselves. I have to wait like 10 seconds and it will show up again. Then I can drag it over to a 'leads' folder, so I can later on export those to my CRM (which is a sales software thing if you don't work in sales).
I've tried disabling both Gmail and iCloud, but then it doesn't show up at all until I relaunch the Contacts application.
Changing the 'default' contacts to either On My Mac or Gmail also means it won't show up until the Contacts application relaunches. Same result if I change the sync to a time interval instead of "Automatically."
It only works at all if it's set to iCloud, and then I still have to wait for it every time.
