osx el capitan: Computer appears frozen during install - help!

What can I do? There is progress in the installation of El Capitan in the second stage (after download and then first part of install and reboot). The progress bar is near the end but hasn't progressed in a long time. It's been over 2 hours since start from download to install start.

Help would be sooo appreciated!
