Q: How do I prevent duplicates when adding music to a device?

Running iTunes 12.3.1.23... 64 bit on Windows 10.

How do I set iTunes to alert me when I am adding duplicate items to a device? I always manage my music manually.

Previous versions of iTunes allowed me to do this, and I'm not sure where to set this option now.

Thanks for any help!

If there are no duplicates in your library, and you only add content from the one library, then it should not be possible to add duplicates to the device. If you attempt to copy a track that is already there then it should be overwritten. If you have duplicates in the library see Re: Duplicate Tunes.
