How do I rip a dvd to an external hard drive but also keep it in itunes
i need to put ripped dvd's on an external hard drive but I cant figure out how to see the films in iTunes so I can then watch them on my Apple TV.

If you are talking about commercially issued DVDs these are copy protected to prevent you doing exactly that. We are not allowed to discuss any methods of getting round that.
