Apple ID Verification Prompt on Restart

new iPad Air 2, 128GB, iOS 9.1 synced to MBP 13 2015, 10.11.1.

Every time I restart the iPad, it would prompt me "Apple ID Verification" asking for my password.

I'm able to pinpoint the cause, just don't know how to fix it, i.e., not make it prompting me every time.

If I sign out from Itunes/App store in setting, it won't prompt me for password on reboot. It's only when I'm signed in to Settings > iTunes & app store.

Things I've tried without results:

  • Clear Safari cache
  • sign out / sign in iCloud from settings
  • wiped the iPad, and DFU restore it, with install as new, 3 times.
  • sign in / sign out in iTunes in mac
  • in Mac iTunes, deauthorize, reauthorize account
  • iTunes account info, remove iPad from managed devices, reset all warnings
  • iTunes app, reset cache

If i choose not now in the prompt, it'll work. I just don't want this prompt to show up at all if i'm already signed up, not sure if this is by design, since it doesn't do it in my iPhone 6s.

Okay, so nobody knows.

I fixed the problem by changing my apple id password.

It's a little inconvenient since I have to do it on all my idevices, but it does work, it doesn't ask for itunes/icloud password after a device reboot.

This seems to be a bug on apple's icloud/itunes end.
