Best apps/programs for scanning large docs?

Any suggestions for the best apps/programs for scanning large docs to PDFs

I do alot of contracts and when scanned a 20 page doc becomes 28meg using the inbuilt scanner. Not email-able so any suggestions would be great.

im fairly new to a Mac from a PC so just need some guidance. Do I maybe need to adjust the settings.

Please Help!!

Use dropbox to allow your recipients to download large files: Dropbox

You should be able to reduce file size and still maintain good resolution by changing settings in the application for the scanner.

If you want an improved scanner application try: Vuescan
