I UPGRADED TO EL CAPTAIN AND NOW I AM UNABLE TO VERIFY MY EMAIL ACCOUNT

I updated my iOS to El Captain and I received a message that I needed to verify my email account. Overtime I enter the password I receive a message that says unable to verify account information. I have verified that I am not locked out of my account and have even changed my password, I've restarted, rebooted and still no luck. Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)
