I lost my phone and I have a backup question...

I lost my about a week ago phone and just received my new phone. I know that I received text messages during the week I was without a phone. If I restore my new phone to the last time my old phone was backed up will I lose those unread texts?

You will only receive the missing text messages up until the time you backed up the phone to iTunes, anything after that would be lost.

I believe you can still receive texts up to a few days after they were sent if you didn't actually receive them.
