With Latest IOS operating system on MacBook Pro having Difficulty moving folders from desktop to document folders. They open rather than drag as in the past.

I have a new MacBook Pro with latest IOS operating system. I've updated the system only one time recently. Since then I am unable to move files from desk top to appropriate folders. I was told to press index finger of left hand into corner of pad and then drag with the right hand from the center of the pad. The response is always that the file opens and then really can't be moved. Anyone have an answer? My desk top is very cluttered and making me whack out.

IOS operating systems do not run on Macs, they run on iPhones.

What operating system do you actually use. It will be a version of OS X.

Can't figure out what you're talking about because MacBook Pros don't run iOS.

Perhaps you're talking about a iPad Pro, if that's the case you've posted in the wrong forum area.

Until you tell us what OS you really have we are shooting in the dark. Assuming that by latest iOS you mean El Capitan then check out these instructions: OS X El Capitan: Mouse & Trackpad pane of Accessibility preferences

But I'm likely way off and you really have a mobile device running iOS rather than a MacBook Pro.
