Griffin Garageband guitar cable??

Does anyone use this with Logic Express or know if it will work?

I would be plugging it into the audio input of my MacBook Pro.

thanks

I bought the Griffin Guitar Cable when using GrageBand ( now I use Logic and rarely use that cable). It was fine - at the time it was a good solution to coneecting guitar to the mac without an interface. Now I have Logic and a PreSonus FireBox so the Guitarcable isn;t needed, but I thought is was good. If you're using Logic, then perhaps the Griffin GC is a solution if you sont have an interface. And the price was right. I had no problems, and using it with GarageBand it was good. Hope this helps.

Hi
Yes, I only just tried for the first time (with Logic) and it works. I use it with an iMic (which is what I used with GarageBand). If you use an iMic, Logic will 'see' it when it is plugged in and ask if you want to use it, and change the Audio driver. My only problem was that I had to also route the audio oui through the iMic. In GrageBand you can easilt select Audio In via say iMav, and Audio out via something else. But in Logic I only see one selection for Driver. But that may only be becuase I'm still learning Logic.

just further to what I wrote, I see that I said 'without an interface' in my first post - an iMic is an interface so I might have been a little misleading. I'm not familiar with the ports on your Mac ....but I'm think it should work. Questions to tick of would be:
- have you had any luck with anything other than the Griffin G-cable?
- are you enabling the track (ie., the 'R' should be illuminted red to hear the signal)
-if you can't hear anything, can you see a signal is getting through, does the meter flicker?
- have you tried MIDI? (that's something to verify that Logic is working)
I had a lot of fun/luck with the iMic ...if you don't have one, its worth consdering. And they are good, and cheap (compared to the interface aailable), and mine still works well after years of use.

The Griffin Garageband cable should work fine with any application- it's really just an ordinary 1/4" instrument jack connected to a stereo mini jack. You could probably buy the same thing at Radio Shack for $5. I bought one thinking it had some special built in low latency drivers (like the USB Lightsnake) but was dissppoimted to discover it's just an ordinary cable with a big price tag.
