iPod Touch (4.2.1) won't sync to iTunes on OS X 10.10. 5 Am I out of lucK?

I'm trying to sync my old iPod Touch (model MB531LL, 4.2.1) to my MacBook running OS X 10.10.5. Is this even possible?

MacBook Pro (15-inch 2.4/2.2 GHz), Mac OS X (10.7.5)
