Bought a used magic mouse and it still has the name of the previous person. how do I change it to my name in OS X El Capitan?

Seems the rename moved when it changed to El capitan.

Open the System Preferences and pick the mouse icon settings.

Open the "Set Up Bluetooth Mouse"

In the list of connected devices, rigth click the name of the device with the unwanted name and rename it
