I need to ask a question at a Japanese website that has an English translation as an option. When I fill out the inquiry and submit the form, the website rejects it saying the form needs to be filled out with single byte characters. How do I resolve this problem? Thanks!
I was trying to contact the people that run the site and ran into the problem about needing the form to be sent in single byte characters. Thank you for your suggestions. I appreciate you taking time out of your day to assist me. I will see if there may be another way to contact the website.
Are you filling out the form in English or Japanese?
TRy firefox and chrome in place of safari.
Thanks for your replies. I tried Firefox and Chrome. Same problem. I tried changing the default encoding in each of the browsers to UTF-8 and still no luck. 😟
YOu should ask the people who run the site.
Unless you are using curly quotes or other odd punctuation, English is always single byte, so it is really odd that you would get such a message.
I attempted with no special characters and even on a Windows machine. I still get the same result. I will try to contact the web page host and/or designer. Thank you for suggestions.
