Cursor opens when passed briefly over any link

I'm cursing my cursor. It has recently begun to open whatever link it

touches, no matter how briefly. Extremely frustrating. Any way

to regulate the sensitivity of the cursor? I think this began when

I upgraded to El Capitan. I should have let well enough alone!

Help appreciated.
