select a portion of screen for video scopes

I can't for the life of me figure out how to do something I know I've done before.

How can I select just a portion of the screen to it analyzes only that portion in the video scopes?

I have a grey card on the right side of the screen and I just want to box around that square and have my scope only analyze that. I can't crop because when I pull the crop from the left it stops at the mid point and the card if on the right hand side of the screen. What am I missing?

You're using the wrong crop function. Use crop/trim not crop/crop. Crop/crop only crops the image proportionately. Crop/trim will crop from edge to edge.

I realized what I was doing. I was in the crop/trim but the slider stops on the far edge and it it not cropped the whole image, but I can put in a higher number in the box next to the slider and it can. Odd that the slider isn't longer/scaled differently to allow the "Left" slider to go all the way to the right edge of frame.

Wouldn't it just be faster to draw a shape mask in the viewer? You can isolate the area you want and even click and drag it around the screen with ease. The scopes follow the action instantly.
