New Macbook Pro with Adobe CC Lightroom and want to import Aperture Library from old Macbook Pro

I have just purchased a new Macbook Pro running OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.5 and will be using Adobe CC Lightroom for my photography "hobby". Since Aperture will no longer be supported, I thought it would be a good time (?) to make the switch and start fresh. I ran Aperture (Version 3.5.1) on an older Macbook Pro running OS X Version 10.9.5. I still want access to my Aperture Library images so wondering the best way to make this happen. I will be gifting my old Macbook Pro to our daughter and plan on updating it to the newest operating system (which will include PHOTOS). Thanks for any advice!
