I got a hand me down computer from my cousin about two years ago. Everything's gone smoothly until around February, 2015. I can't update my mac become my cousin's Apple ID is still on here. I've tried, but it only allows me to enter the password. I can't change the Apple ID username. My family and I have tried to do this for a while now, but we just can't figure it out! HELP PLEASE! 😢
MacBook Air, Updating
Sorry, no answer, just a similar problem:
After I bought a Macbook Air, my old Macbook is used in the spare room. I removed my partner's ID, only mine is left on the old Macbook. Strangely, always when I use iTunes I must enter the password for the removed ID; I cannot find out how to remove that. Strange.
What you will have to do is erase the HDD and reinstall the original OSX. That way the MBA will be registered with your Apple ID and then you will be able to perform updates. These are the steps that should have been taken when you got the MBA:
