Q: if i delete photos from my iphone library can i keep them on my macbook?

The photos app on the macbook is connected to my phone through icloud which seems to be the only way to transfer photos onto my computer. The problem is that my phone is running out of memory and I need to delete photos from my phone. If I delete photos from my phone will they also permanenty delete from my photos library on my macbook?

THere are many iCLoud services so the answer depends on what services you are using

 

If you are using iCloud Photo Library then you have a single library for everything and every change made any where is made every where

 

If you are using MyPhotoStream then deleting form one device does not affect other devices

 

If you are using iCLoud Photo Sharing then you are the owner can delete photos and they are deleted everywhere
