Is there a way to delete emails from my Macbook, but not from Yahoo in general? Kind of like you can do on a phone or ipad. I don't want them on my Macbook, but don't necessarily want them gone for good.

Hello misty cate,

After reviewing your post, It sounds like you want to keep deleted emails on the mail server for later. I would recommend you read this article, it may be able to help troubleshoot the issue.

You may want to check if in the preferences you can select this option.

Mail (Yosemite): Mailbox Behaviors preferences

Store deleted messages on the server

Deleted messages stored on the mail server are available when you use your account on other computers.

This option is available only for IMAP and Exchange accounts.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Have a nice day.
