sony cybershot pictures missing

I'm having an issue that all pictures taken with my cybershot are missing in iphoto. I last uploaded from it in Aug or Sept and know that I've viewed the pics since then - maybe late Sept. Looking for them today, I am unable to find them. I also have a Nikon and those images are all showing up in iphoto. Based on other discussions here, I've rebuilt the library but am still unable to find them. Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

What version of iPhoto and is OS X 10.8.3 as you state correct for your OS? What has changed since it worked?

I guess the change would be that we got a new imac last month. The old imac is operating on OS X V10.9.2 with iphoto v 9.5.1. I cannot find the images on that computer, which is where I last saw them.

We transferred all images over to the new imac, where I also am unable to find the cybershot images. It's operating on OS X El Capitain and Photos V1.2
